Being born in Geneva, with both of my parents being Dutch, gave me a cosmopolitical background. I am always more interested in what happens in the rest of the world than in the Netherlands or Switzerland.
I had a few careers before I landed as a fund manager with our Commodity Discovery Fund, which I started with two other investors in the summer of 2008. I have been a photojournalist for the first twenty (professional) years. This training has helped me greatly to stick to the best stories as an investor and ignore the noise.
